Fatigued for Many Reasons...and Ginseng Can Help

Simple fatigue that results from exerting too much effort may frequently be relieved by taking a nap or getting a good night's sleep. But fatigue can also be a side effect of a disease or health issue or a symptom of a more serious problem.

For example, cancer-related fatigue is common as the body works hard to overcome the disease and deal with the treatment. Studies have been done to determine if ginseng can help during the healing process. In June 2007, the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin reported that researchers of the North Central Cancer Treatment Group tested a placebo group against a group of patients who took three daily does of ginseng supplements.

The patients taking the ginseng reported higher energy levels and an enhanced ability to complete activities without fatigue. The ginseng-taking group also reported a greater feeling of mental and physical well-being. Ginseng supplements offer a natural and safe way to deal with the fatigue associated with disease, over exertion, and sleeplessness.
